A dual-qualified lawyer permitted to practise in both South Africa and New South Wales, Australia, Nel is an attorney and notary specialising in Corporate and Commercial law. She earned her LLB and LLM degrees (cum laude) from the University of Pretoria, subsequently obtaining a Higher Diploma in Tax Law from the University of Johannesburg.

 

Nel has provided legal counsel to prominent Government and corporate clients in a range of diverse industries, including media and technology, construction, real estate, finance, health, transport, and agriculture – all of which she’s serviced with demonstrable efficacy.

 

With over 13 year’s experience in managing legal processes pertaining to corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions (including high-profile due diligence investigations) and corporate governance matters, Nel has developed a reputation as being both a big-picture thinker and a fierce proponent of granular fastidiousness. Her many proficiencies also include the delivery of fiduciary services; Nel has advised trustees, registered trusts, acted as an independent trustee, drafted wills, and planned estates in that capacity.

 

Prior to joining NSDV, Nel held the role of legal counsel for the global e-mobility services company, DiDi Global. She completed her articles at ENS Africa.
